at7:30 amSo I recently posted that I wanted to lose 4% of my body weight every 4 weeks for a while and now the first 4 weeks are up, how did I do?
4% in this instance equates to about 6lbs, and as so far this year I have gained and lost the same 4lbs that is a figure that marks a breakthrough for me, and one that at the start of this process I set out to be the first of many.
The deal is this, I hit walls and as I get bigger the walls I hit are at higher and higher figures, but this does not mean they cannot be broken down. I think what happens each time is that before I break the wall down, I break. If I'm breaking then that wall is not going to go anywhere.
So how did I do?
Well.... I knew things were going much better when I fitted into my "test" trousers. Before I started, I could not do them up, now I can do them up but it is not advisable for me to do so (very uncomfortable and not yet flattering). I'm trying not to dwell on the fact that they fitted perfectly in May 2012 and focus on getting back into them instead!
As I knew my hormones would wreak havoc with my body in the last week of this four weeks I weighed myself a week early on 13th June and had lost one pound more than my target, but in the interests of fairness I weighed myself again yesterday. In two weeks of high stress the normal response for me is to gain a few pounds, partly as stress makes me hold onto weight and partly through comfort eating.
When I weighed myself yesterday I had lost 7lbs - that is one more than I was aiming for. I'm keeping my next target at 6 lbs but if it is 5lbs I'll still be on track! Hurrah!
And to finish as the number 4 has been on my mind A LOT. Here is 1,2,3,4 by Feist
