Happiness

(Yes, once again Aida has a dirty face. This girl gets dirty so quickly...I don't even fight it these days.)

Do we have a mind of our own, or what?

"Smile!" I said to Sophie.
So she did this:
Aida was a little more cooperative:
And Sophie eventually came around:

A little teaser...

I have a kajillion pictures from our trip to Santa Barbara that need going-through and "editing" (I put that in quotes since I'm not very good at it!). For now, here are a few photos of our lovelies:

Our Little Fish

Here is Sophie living it up in kiddie pools in CA!
At Ariana's:
At Zavien's:
With Timmy and Ginny at Nana and Grandpa's:

She got so brave, dipping her head into the water and "swimming" on her belly and "running" from one end of the pool to the next. She also took a few tumbles, but I guess that's what happens when you get brave. These days, she takes giant cups full of water and dumps them over her head when she's in the tub here at home. Such a silly girl.

The Girls Turn 2!

Aida and Sophie turned 2 last Thursday, and had a special day to celebrate. We had already had a little family party (pictures to come!) but we worked hard to make their actual day full of fun and surprises. Here they are with the presents they got to open first thing in the morning - tutus made by Mommy:

This is the way Sophie always is these days - at least 2 or 3 things clutched in her little hands.
Behind Aida you can see their new and already well-loved kitchen set:
Then, Poptarts for breakfast (don't tell Daddy!):
Oh, the joy!
Helping Mommy make a special dessert. The girls picked out their own dresses that morning and cracked me up by knowing exactly which ones they wanted right away:
Special picnic lunch in Daddy's office:
A present for the girls just from Daddy. They loved it when he read this book to them while we were in Santa Barbara, and they just laugh and laugh while he reads it.
A trip to the art museum with Grandmom after naps to paint and play with the blocks. Special bonus - a birthday gift certificate to the museum gift shop, where Sophie immediately knew exactly what she wanted and picked out a cheetah magnet. She also picked a bear magnet for Aida, which Aida seems to enjoy. I'm not sure that I understand their tastes quite yet.
Blowing out candles:

What a happy day!
We are so thankful for these 2 years with our sweet girls.
